Applied Learning Summit Flyer

The College of Engineering & Information Technology (COEIT) Transfer Applied Learning Summit is a one-day intensive program that connects incoming and current transfer students with key departmental and campus resources to support their success at UMBC. Through interactive sessions with the Career Center, Shriver Center and COEIT Faculty & Staff, students will prepare for applied learning experiences (internships, undergraduate research, and service learning) and leave with tangible tools, such as an updated resume or an applied learning/graduation plan to support their academic and professional goals. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills and make a plan for your success at UMBC!

The Computing & Engineering Transfer Institute (CETI) Summer Program is a hybrid summer program that has been specifically designed for incoming transfer students in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT). CETI facilitates the transition of transfer students to the College of Engineering and Information Technology and UMBC. Students will attend applied learning workshops, as well as social events, which will provide students with a chance to get to know COEIT faculty and their peers, jumpstart their educational journey, and cultivate a sense of belonging at UMBC.

 

Program Eligibility

Admitted as a transfer student entering Fall 2026

Pursuing major in COEIT

Time Commitment

Approximately 10 hours per week. – Most workshops will be held synchronously between 10am and 3pm Monday through Friday and recorded for asynchronous participation later. A detailed schedule of the program will be released in July.
